Despite this "work" requirement, however, achieving the body of your dreams is possible if you build on a solid foundation:
Believe in yourself - Corny and/or obvious? Perhaps. Truth is - you'll only accomplish that which you believe you can.
Be patience - Weight gain and loss of physical fitness, does not happen overnight. The opposite is also true; positive body transformation is a process and takes time.
Accept ups and downs - Success is never a straight line. Struggles, even occasional "failures" are part of the journey. Focus on your goal - simply correct course when encountering curves in the road.
Reject "gimmicks" or "fitness secrets" - Successful body transformation programs require three things: proper and balanced nutrition, consistent training, and adequate rest. There are no healthy short cuts.
Employ fun and sustainable training methods - Limit unenjoyable routines. Fun and effective options abound: Cardio (running, cycling, elliptical machines, etc.), Strength and conditioning (resistance bands, suspension training, free weights, etc.). Fun activities help you maintain your level of commitment!
Use proper data - If your goal is to lose weight (fat), trim out, and strengthen up - the scale is of nominal help. Instead track body fat and lean body mass percentages for more accurate progress reports. Measure (body tape) your chest, arms, waist, legs, etc. to get a clear picture of your transformation as it happens.
Track your progress - Information is power. Results data allows you to: see your progress, motivate yourself when not meeting expectations, celebrate when you reach your periodic and ultimate goals!
